Fun Cards!

I'm almost caught up with the older birthday cards to post.  Yeah!!
Due to Kodak Easy Share "eating" some of my pictures, I don't have all of the newer cards, but I have some of them.

The first one to share with you features Dangling Tilda.

 The paper is from K&Company's Handmade tablet.  I tried to have Tilda hang from one of the circles, but it didn't work out the way I saw it "in my head".  So she got hung from the ribbon instead!

Tilda was colored with Copics.
The flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The ribbon from my stash.
The butterfly was a gift from my friend Lillian.
This card went to Crystal Thomas.

 The center features the swing from Magnolia's Swing stamp without the tree branch part.  The circle was cut with Nestabilities Scalloped Circle dies.
The sentiment panel was cut using Deckled Rectangles.
The sentiments were computer generated.

Ballerina Tilda is showcased on DCWV's Primrose paper trimmed out with a piece of pale turquoise wide lace from my stash.
The flower in the upper corner was a Melissa Francis design that I got from someone's Etsy shop a long time ago.

The die cut is Magnolia's My Love Heart.
The tiny roses and leaves were from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Tilda was colored with Copics.

All the papers used on the inside were from the The Primrose tablet.
The Happy Birthday stamp was from Stampin' Up!

This card went to Jody Blaufus.

 Princess Tilda looks very regal as she posed on a Marianne Designs Creatables oval.

Tilda was colored with Copics. 
The pearls were from my stash.
The flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.The papers were from K&Company's Blue Awning tablet.
 The glitter on the paper is very glittery in real life, but doesn't show up very well in the picture.

The sentiment panel was cut using a Joy! Craft die.
The flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The sentiment was computer generated.

This card went to Karen Gauthier.







My nephew, Nate's birthday was in June.  I had intended to take his card with me to our Family Reunion in early July.  However, I didn't make it this year.  His card was a fun never ending card.  This is the third one I've made and they get easier every time!

This is the front of the card.
Mini Cool Edwin is mounted on a petite oval panel cut using Nestabilities Petite Scalloped Ovals.

The Sweet Christmas Present looks very much a birthday gift colored in non- Christmas colors.

 All of the papers were from my stash.

Face 2 results when opening Face 1 by turning the panels to the sides.

Mini Hiking Background and mini Moose provide a peaceful camping scene.

Mini Burger Tilda and Barbecue Riley the Moose create a cool picnic scene when mounted on watermelon paper.
The sentiments were computer generated with lots of trial and error to get the placement exactly where I wanted it. Tee Hee!!

Top and bottom panels for Face 2 flip up and down respectively to reveal Face 3.
You'll notice that the side panels from Face 2 also show in Face 3.

Mini Edwin in Miami is mounted on seashell paper from my friend Lillian.

Mini Hiking Edwin is mounted on paper from the stash.

Face 3 panels are flipped to the sides to reveal Face 4.

The papers are from the stash.
The swirl stamp was from an Autumn Leaves set by Rhonna Farrer called Swirls V:I.

Mini Edwin Wants a Hug stands behind his brand new car (Tilda's Summer Car stamp)!
The top section is left blank for a hand written note.

My May Mingle card went to Myra Webb.

Tilda with Cross Necklace is mounted on offset Deckled Rectangles which were cut with Nestabilities dies.

All the embellishments were from my stash.
The flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Of course it was an easel card!!

The sentiments were computer generated on offset Deckled Rectangles.
More flowers were added to dress it up a bit.

Hi blogger friends!

Here is another long post of cards I did for March birthdays.  Yes, you read that correctly - March.  I am still behind with my blog posts.  Bear with me and someday I will be caught up.

There were a lot of March birthdays so I will just post the pictures and not too much blab about each one.

The papers were from K&Company' Spring Blossom stack.

Poppy Tilda somewhat matches the papers!

Here's the open view of the easel card.

This went to Cathrine Atkinson.

Again, these are Spring Blossom papers.

Tilda with Daisies and Mushrooms looks like she's having a grand time out in the fresh air watching the butterflies.  In case she gets lost the Sign shows her the way home or to Edwin's.

The Butterfly Border was a recent addition to my die cuts.

The background papers are from K&Company's Cottage Garden stack.

Tilda with Bee sitting on the Old Bench just seemed a perfect fit with the papers!

More K&Company's Spring Blossom papers!  They were all so beautiful it was hard to resist using them.

Sweet Tilda makes a wonderful focal point among all the spring flowers.

I was on an easel card roll when I made all these cards.

What could be better than Prince Froggy and Spring Blossom's water Lily design.

Tilda with Prince Froggy is the perfect image for this paper. 

I trimmed out some of the water lilies and added them for a dimensional touch.

For the easel bottom, I cut out several water lilies and pads and added them.

I certainly hope Lori Palmer likes her card.  It was very fun to make.

Here's another version of the Spring Blossom poppy like flowers for the background.

Poppy Tilda seemed so natural to use with this paper.

Of course, this is another easel card.

I hope Marion Bergsmavan liked her card.





All of the card bases were Stampin' Up! cardstock.

All of the flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts or Hooked on Crafts.

All ribbons and any other embellishments were from my stash.

Tilda's Town Challenge #112 - Summer

This week the theme over at Tilda's Town Challenge is Summer!  What a fun theme to work with.  When I think of summer, I think of friends coming over for BBQ s.  What could more perfect for Tilda and her friends!?! 

Here is the card I'm entering this week.

 Tilda and her jumbo burger make me hungry.  It looks so yummy!

I've used Burger Tilda, Flip Flop Tilda, Soccer Bench, and Tilda's Barbeque stamps.

I had made a similar card a couple years ago using the masking technique to build the scene.  This card has everything cut out and placed.

The wild background paper is from Basic Grey's Lime Rickey pad.  I've had that pad for several years and it is finally nearly gone.  It is hard for me to work with such wild designs.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The ribbon and lady bug stick-ons are from my stash.

Both of these papers are from the Lime Rickey pad.

The sentiment panel was cut using Spellbinders Scalloped Circles and Classic Circles.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.


This was a fun daydreaming type card to do!  I love picnics.  I used the ladybugs because I didn't have any ant stickers.

I will be entering this card in the Tilda's Town Challenge #112 Summer.

Birthday card for Pastor

Today I finished up a birthday card for our pastor.  His birthday was a week or so ago, so the theme of the card works out perfectly!  I will enter this card in the Tilda's Town Challenge #110 The Great Outdoors.  I think it will be perfect!

Over a year ago Pastor Eric and another member of the congregation went moose hunting in the wilds of the far north.  I have forgotten exactly where they went.

The card base is Stampin' Up's Baked Brown Sugar.  The background scene was Magnolia's Hiking Background colored with Copics and was stamped on Cryogen 89# White.

Walter the Moose represents the moose that the guys shot and brought home.

The head is now proudly displayed in Pastor and Deby's living room and it is HUGE!

 The tree is from a Memory Box die Small Alder Tree.

Here is the open version of the easel card.

Walter looks very proud of himself and is almost laughing at those foolish men trying to take him down.

The flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The sentiment panel was cut from SU's Pistachio Pudding cardstock using Spellbider's Labels Seventeen.  The sentiment was computer generated. "The Sorry I Moosed ..." phrase was from Hanna Stamps (no longer in business).  All the phrases have the word moose worked into them.

 Here is a closeup of the sentiment panel.
It should be obvious why I chose the birthday cake stamp.  Pastor loves his toys, so the chain saw was a perfect choice.

The two small images are Riley Moose stamps from Riley and Company Online.

A Card for an 88th B-day

I still have a lot of older cards to post, but I wanted to show off a new birthday card I made for a friend's 88th birthday.  She came to our church for years until she decided it was time to move to an assisted living facility.

She belonged to several groups who made crafts and such.  She had given me a box of her leftovers from projects she had made.  I wanted to do something very special for her, so I made her a fancy birthday card.

I have used Marianne Designs Creatables #LR0234 and LR0270.  The design was slightly modified from a picture in an Ecstasy Crafts catalog.

The design was die cut first then embossed.  I slightly dampened the Whisper White cardstock with a sponge that I had squeezed out.  That allows the embossing to be very deep.
The roses were from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The sheer ribbon was from the stash.
All cardstock was Stampin' Up.

When the center panel is lifted, this is what is underneath!  The tiny roses were Wild Orchid Crafts.

On the reverse of the center flap is the sentiment panel.  I cut the top and bottom by sliding the panel under the die on one end and over the die on the other end as I needed it to be longer than the die.

I hope you have enjoyed this card.  It was a lot of fun to make and the recipient sent me a thank you note saying she loved it and planned to keep it out where she could see it all the time!  Made my day!

Friends Birthday Cards

As I was editing the pictures from my camera, I realized not all of them were from the Magnolia birthday list. So here are some for my church friends and special friends. Enjoy!!

The first two cards were belated birthdays for two friends from church.

Both of these ladies work in the church kitchen making snacks for after church fellowship time in the Cafe'. Maureen is in charge of the kitchen. Janet helped with the baking until she took some time off for a knee replacement.

At this time I don't remember which card went to which lady :-( 

The card base is from Stampin' Up.
The small designer papers are from the stash.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Tilda is colored with Copics.

The background papers might have been from a Stampin' Up pack.

The ribbon was from the stash.







The silverware die cuts were from Magnolia and were cut from silver glimmer paper.

Here is the other card also with a kitchen theme.

The background paper used here if from SU Domestic Goddess.

Tilda with Cowberry Muffin was colored with Copics.

The silverware was the same as the other card.















The next card was for my dear friend Shirley Emerson.  She and I met when we lived in the same town in Pennsylvania.  She is from New Hampshire and was married to a guy who was a neighbor of mine when we were kids.

We had lost contact for many years. She is back in New Hampshire and I'm in New York. One day I was just looking for names on Facebook and I found her.  We have been in touch a bit since then.  It really is a very small world.

Tilda with Love is so pretty in her purple and yellow outfit to match the iris blooms on the designer paper from K&Co's Cottage Garden.

The fence is Magnolia's Spring Fence.

Both images are colored with Copics.

The mounting panel was cut with Spellbinder's Labels Twenty-three.

The pearls were from the stash.

The die cut flowers were from K&Co's Cottage Garden Accents.

The ribbon was from the stash.

 Caroline McKay from church loves Tilda Loves Flowers.  After she opened the card, she was showing everyone!!

The mouning panel was cut with Spellbinder's Labels Fourteen.

The ribbon is from the stash.

All flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.

 The vine around the sentiment was cut using the Memory Box Twirling Vine Frame die.














I count Norma Lee as a very special friend.  Her cards are absolutely works of art and never cease amaze me.  Her creativity seems to know no bounds.  You can visit her blog here to see for yourself the wonderful things she creates.

I used Hello Little Butterfly and Magnolia's Sign images.
They are colored with Copics.

The die cut is from Memory Box's Kensington border.

The card base is SU.

The background paper is from K&Co's Cottage Garden.

The little jewel flower is from my friend Lillian.

The pearls are from the stash.

 This shows the center panel and the last panel.  Norma makes tri-fold cards a lot, so I made her a tri-fold that is just a bit different.

The designer paper is all one long sheet.

The rainbow ribbon was from my stash.  I haven't used it before, but it was perfect for this card.

The sentiment was computer generated.

Here is a close up of Tilda showing how I tried to color her apron and the butterfly to match the one on the designer paper.

I think it came out close!
