April Mingle Cards

Being part of the Mingle activity is really fun! There is no immediate pressure to get something done "yesterday" - it's one card to one person per month.

Here is the April Mingle card I received from Karen Conolly. The theme was bright and cheerful or something like that. This card sure does fit the theme!

Who can't be happy with a darling Happy Tilda in the colorful flowers.

This is a beautiful card. Thank you Karen.

This is my April Mingle sent to Georgina Lupton.

Spring at my house means the bluebirds are back. The flowers are blooming and the kids are out riding their bikes again. The sounds of kids laughing and playing fill the air.

The background DP is SU Walk in the Park.
The images were all colored with Copics.

Here is the inside of the card using the same DP as the front, only in color. I included a small area for a quick note.

Have a beautiful spring! Thanks for taking time to look at my blog.

March Mingle Cards

After I joined the Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group, I read through the list of activities offered on an ongoing basis. I had spent several hours admiring all the Tilda cards on members' blogs and was especially drawn to Roseanne Knowles' cards as she had posted several the first couple weeks I was a member.

The monthly Mingle seemed like a good activity to start with - one card per month to one person. So I signed up. My first Mingle card was to go to Roseanne Knowles. Her cards had already intimidated me. Her layouts and flower arrangements are gorgeous. Check out her blog here http://turbostamper.blogspot.com/.

Here is the card I sent her.
This was my first attempt at making a flower arrangement on a card.
The flowers are Prima and the leaves are MS Branch punch. I think it did turn out quite nicely. She was very gracious and said she liked it and that my coloring was good.

Easter Tilda and her little chicks were colored with my Copics, of course!

Colors used:
Face - E000, 00, 01, 11, R20
Hair - E30, 31, 33
Chicks - Y13, 15, YR65
Dress, scarf - YG05,03,07,09, Y02
Shoes - E000, 42

My Mingle card was from Georgina Lupton.
She used so many techniques on this card -
layering, Cuttlebug design behind the main image (you can just see the top above the image), sponging, die cutting, brads, ribbon, tag, as well as stamping and coloring Tilda. There is also glitter on her wing by the bottle neck.
The Cuttlebug design shows on the inside of the card. The lower inside is lined with designer paper and a layered message label.
It is just a gorgeous card and I love it!
Thank you, Georgina.
Many thanks to you for taking time to stop by and look at my cards!
Blessings,

Friends Moved into New Homes!

Do you ever forget what really neat stamps are in sets that you rarely use? I sure do :-(
I came across these cute owls from Gina K's set Owl Always Love You and the sentiment Congratulations on your new nest.

One of my favorite payroll clients recently moved into a new home and here is the card I made for them.

They absolutely loved the card!
The background is Cuttlebugged with the Leafy Branch and the oval with Distressed Stripes folders.
The ovals were cut with my Petite Scallop Ovals and the sun with Petite Circles.

Cardstock was SU Handsome Hunter and Soft Sky.
Copics used to color the image were:
E11, 17, 19, 29, 40, W02, 2, R02, 05, G24 and 29.

The house was cut using my Nesties Scalloped Rectangles. This house is from SU Welcome Neighbors DP.

My friend Susan also moved into her new house after months of delays on the closing. I KNEW that a cheery "Welcome to your new nest" card was in order.

Here is her card - same stamp set, same Copic colors, same Cuttlebug folders.

Hey, while I had them out for one and was on a new nest roll, I used them for two and a spare!

The inside of her card was just slightly different, but the same designer paper pack.

Thanks for looking and may all your new nests be comfy!

Edwin Birthday Card

My son's birthday was the end of March. Making "guy" cards is a real challenge for me. After a lot of thought and mis-starts, here is the card I finally came up with.

Guitar Edwin was my first choice for the card. I wanted an outdoor scene so clouds and the Spring Tree were perfect for the front. The background cloud paper is SU Welcome Neighbor Designer Series and the grass paper is from Joann Fabrics.

The Copics used on Edwin were:
Skin - E000, 01, 00, 11, R20, 000
Guitar - E35, 37, 57
Hair - E19, 99
Clothes - C6, 8, G21, 24, 28, Y08
Tree - E47, 57, G24, YG03, RV00, 02, 04, BV31

The inside top paper is from SU Sweet Pea DP; sentiments are Cornish Heritage Farms Birthday Centers.

It's really hard to believe he is a Version 4.0 this year!!

His wife drew little mouths on the faces and a circle for Guitar Edwin's mouth. I haven't seen that yet, but his sister said the mouths were cute.

The lower inside is covered with another great print from the SU Sweet Pea designer series.

Edwin riding his bike, Tilda holding a puppy and Rufus made a really neat scene that he loved.

I used a lot of markers on this one! The only ones I remembered to write down were

Rufus - RV10, 11, E33, 37
Stone wall - N2, 4, YG 09, E42

The sentiment stamp is SU.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look!

Easter cards

My Easter cards this year were really quite quick to make. I embossed the vellum with Swiss Dots and my Cuttlebug, then punched the edges with fancy edge punches Martha Stewart Floral Lace and a Fiskars punch. Sheer ribbons came from JoAnn Fabrics. The image Tilda with Bunny is colored with Copics markers then cut out with Nestibilities Labels Four.

Copics for the dresses:

Lavendar - V01, 04, 000
Pink - R00,20,21
Blue - B00,14,12
Green - G 21, 24, 20

Bunny - W1, W3, R20

Tilda couldn't decide which color to wear.

Here's a close up of Tilda in her Easter finery holding her cute little bunny!

Thanks for looking! Hope you enjoyed them as much as I did making them.

Christmas Cards 2009

I have been VERY slow in posting on my blog :(
I will try really hard to do better!

As you may have noticed, I have 3 new tags along the side - Magnolia Yahoo Groups, Color Me Creative and Magnolia-licious.

I have fallen head over heels in love with the Tilda and Edwin stamps from Magnolia! These stamps are so special that something special MUST be used to color them.
SO --- My gift to my self for birthday, Mother's Day, Christmas, anniversary, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day and any I may have forgotten has been my Copic markers. And -- I have been testing them out! The Color Me Creative Classroom is a series of video classes by Suzanne Dean on using the Copic markers and all the fun techniques you can do using them.

Here are pics of the Christmas cards I did using the Tilda stamps and Copic markers.

This card is for my grandson Stephen's December Birthday.

These cards were for my grandsons Jeremy and Stephen for Christmas.

My daughter-in-law, Carrie and my son got these two cards.

These were for my daughter Phyllis and grandaughter Paula.

This was the general Christmas card that went to my stamping friends and a few other special people.

There were also four other cards for my daughter Becky and her family, but I can't find pictures of them. Imagine that!

Thanks for looking. I hope you have enjoyed them.

Blessings,
