Daughter's Birthday Card

My older daughter celebrated a birthday on January 20.  And I am just getting her card in the mail to her.  I did talk to her on her big day and told her the card would be late :( I'm really trying to get on top of the cards and not be late so often.

Here is her card.

This amazing paper is from DCWV The Coral Couture Stack.  All of the papers are gorgeous!  I love coral and turquoise so this stack was shouting at me as soon as I entered Jo-Ann Fabrics a couple weeks ago.  Just to sweeten the deal, the stack was on sale at 50% off!

The Happy Birthday stamp is from Stampin' Up!  The card stock was just too pretty to cover it up with anything.

The easel card open -

The paper on the easel is also from the Coral Couture stack.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The panel behind Tilda was cut using Spellbinders Floral Ovals.
Tilda With Big Tulip was colored with Copics.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  You have made my day!

One Year Ago Today

One year ago today my life changed forever.  I underwent a  triple cardiac bypass.  I feel so much better now there is absolutely no comparison.  I have more energy and don't feel tired so much of the time.  I still tire, but not like before.  I praise God for a doctor who was on top of the symptoms of massively clogged arteries and Dr. Massey, my surgeon.  Chances are good that I might not be here today without that surgery.

Enough of that!  The past two weeks I have been cleaning up my Stamp Mansion.  I had a lot of miniature stamps that I hadn't put into the binders.  I looked up the names and collections for each.  Then typed up the cards for the binders and stamped out each image on the cards.  Then they all got sorted into collections and put into the binders.  Now I can tell at a glance what mini stamps I have.

Last week I sorted all my Magnolia stamps.  I separated out the Christmas, Nativity and winter stamps.  Then did the Edwin's and Tilda's.  The Tilda's are sub-sorted by categories - T with food, with flowers, with animals, sitting, standing, etc.  The accessories were also sorted by what they were - animals, furniture, food, trees, backgrounds, etc.  Now when I want a particular type of stamp I know where to look. We'll see just how long they stay nice and neat!

Last week I also did my flowers.  What a job!  I sorted them first by type - roses, daisies, cherry blossoms, etc.  Then I sorted them again by sizes, especially the roses.  I now have 4 bins of flowers and I can find what I need quickly.  I found a lot that I had forgotten that I had.

I have finished the last of my assigned birthday cards for the Magnolia birthday card blessings hosted by Tabitha Davis.  What a brave lady for taking on the duties of moderating the birthdays and getting this up and running!

I forgot to write down who each card is going to, so I'll just post all three with pictures only, no names.

The first one features Joyful Tilda with her tray of tea and cookies.  Yellow is not one of my favorite colors, but this card with the light green worked out fine.

Tilda is colored with Copics.  The doily is from my stash.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I love making easel cards!!!

The rose paper is from the Christmas Story Collection 2012 from Magnolia.
The sentiment tag is a Doo Hickey die.  The stamp is from Stampin' Up!

Tilda with A Big Bouquet was so fun to color!
She almost looks like she will tip over if she's not careful.

The large flower is from my stash, (which I found when cleaning) as is the ribbon and doily.
The image is colored with Copics.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, my favorite source for them.

The green leaves are a die cut from my stash. I thought I had that die, but I can't quickly locate it :(  Maybe some stamping angel sent it to me :D

The sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up!

Tilda With Love is from the brand new  With Love Collection.

The card base is SU's Garden Green.
The paper is from the Sweet Crazy Love paper pack.

Tilda is colored with Copics.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The ribbon from the stash.

Another easel card.

I'm not sure where the paper is from
The sentiment panel is cut using Spellbinders Floral Ovals.
The tiny roses (which I found while cleaning up!) are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The sentiment stamp is SU.

I'm sorry this post is so long.  Thank you so much for sticking with me to the end of it.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit and will come back again.

Tilda's Town Challenge #35 - Let It Snow!

This week's challenge over at Tilda's Town is Let It Snow!!

For my card I used Tilda In the Mountains.  She's skiing so I don't really get the name of that stamp at all.
.

The background paper is from the very beautiful Christmas Story Collection - 2012.
The card base is Stampin' Up's Tempting Turquoise.
The snowflakes were punched from glitter cardstock using a Martha Stewart punch.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The leaves were punched with another Martha Stewart punch.
The image was colored with Copic Sketch markers.
Of course this is an easel card and here is the open view.

The stamp and  papers are available from our wonderful Diana's Magnolia-licious store here.
I am entering this card in the Tilda's Town Challenge here.  This is also for my first BRAK (Birthday Random Act of Kindness) card.

I would love for you to stop by and say "Hey!"

Carrie's Birthday Card

Today I have a birthday card for my daughter-in-law to share with you.  My son picked a big time winner when he chose Carrie.  She is a pure delight!

Her card features Tilda with a Big Bouquet.  The papers I chose are from Basic Grey's Konnichiwa paper pad.  I don't remember why I bought this particular pad because I'm not really into oriental anything.  I put it into the same category as the BG Lime Rickey papers - bright, colorful and not what I usually work with.

It was extremely difficult for me to work with these papers, but I do like the way the card turned out.

Tilda was colored with Copic Sketch markers.  The flower spray is from Jolee's Boutique purchased at Wal Mart.

The inside features two more of the Konnichiwa papers.  The sentiment is stamped on Tilda's Vintage Tag, layered to set it off from the background floral.

I am entering this card in Tilda's Town Challenge #34 Anything Goes.  It sure feels good to be back to entering challenges and making cards again after 3 months away!

The Last Chocolate Card

I'm wishing all of you a very Happy New Year and hoping you all had a very wonderful Christmas.  Do your best to stay warm and comfortable during this frigid weather.

The Last Chocolate Card - at least for a while.

My hubby's birthday was December 30.  This choc card makes 13 or 14 that I've made this year.  Good thing they are rather quick to do.  Special thanks to Christina Carstensen (Christina's Card Connection) for her inspiring pictures of her Chocolate Cards.  Takes me longer to choose the papers than create the rest of the card.

I used the special stamp Happy Edwin carrying a birthday greeting this time.  He was colored with Copics and cut out with Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles and inked with SU Cherry Cobbler.
The papers are from SU Cherry Cobbler and Well Worn designer papers. I hadn't noticed how well they worked together until I put this together.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts; ribbon from the stash.

I choose Cool Edwin for the inside and colored him in blue jeans and a gray t-shirt - my DH's favorite outfit!!  The sentiment is from Cornish Heritage Farms Birthday Centers.  The brick wall is also from the Well Worn papers.
Hubby was quite surprised with his chocolate card.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing this latest chocolate card!
